What or Who is Badarchin? They are trekkers, BADARCHINS used to explore, understand and learn about the lands and countries they crossed, spread news and information from all parts of the world and brought back knowledge to their people.Thus BADARCHIN had always been very well-respected by Mongols who used to offer them great hospitality and honors. Marco Polo was one the few foreign traveler accepted as a BADARCHIN by Mongols and one of the most respected in history. This tradition had been abandoned in practice through the times, but is still vivid in people’s mind as a great Mongol culture heritage. Trekking in the Gobi, Three Beauties of the Gobi National Park to explore eagle valley and Flaming cliffs known as a Bayanzag (dinosaur excavation site) are truly amazing experience.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 : Ulaanbaatar city tour
Tour begins: At the airport in Ulaanbaatar you will be meet your guide and driver. City orientation tour begins with visiting Gandan Monastery. Lunch at the restaurant /Mongolian national food, modern and comfortable/. Visit the dinosaur exhibits at the Museum of Natural History and Chinggis statue at the government house. Free time. Overnight at 3 star hotel (L)
Travel to the Great GOBI range
Day 2 : Baga Gazriin Chuluu Mountains (trekking 5 hours)
drive to Baga Gazariin Chuuluu, which you could loosely translate as 'Lucky Luke desert'. and the granite rocks with the yellow sandy plains. Religious texts on some of the walls, much every boulder in the area is sacred. Today we drive to Baga Gazriin Chuluu Mountains, which arises pictorially out of the flat landscapes. Overnight at a camp encircled by rough rocks. Overnight in the tourist camp (B/L/D)
Day 3 : middle Gobi deserts Tracking through GOBI Stepper (trekking 5-6 hours)
After the breakfast, trek to Mandalgobi. This is a long trekking day stepper range. The Lunch will be served as picnic on the way. We will stay that night in tent and next overnight in Gobi in tent. The track will go through the Gobi stepper. Overnight in the tent (B/L/D)
Day 4 : SouthGobi, GOBI Stepper (trekking 5 hours)
Continue our trek to Eagle valley or Vulture valley. We will stay that night in tent and next overnight in Gobi in tent. The track will go through the Gobi stepper. Overnight in the tent (B/L/D)
Day 5 : National park Eagle valley trekking (trekking 5 hours)
After breakfast visit the beautiful Eagle Valley, Gurvan Saikhan Uul (about 40 km). The valley is about 10 km long and is completely shaded from the sun in some parts due to the high cliff walls. There you can walk and photograph spectacular local landscapes (Gobi Mountains). At the opening of the valley is a Local Natural History Museum displaying interesting information about the animals of the area. You will return to the Ger camp in the evening for dinner and Overnight in the tent. (B/L/D)
Day 6 : Gobi desert Khongorin els (trekking 5 hours)
Khongor Sand Dunes are the largest and most spectacular sand dunes in Mongolia. Also known as the ‘singing dunes’, they are up to 800 m high, 20 km wide and about 100 km long. Top of the dunes can be climbed and the views of the desert from the top are indescribable. Enjoy the majestic views of dunes beautiful play of shadow and light with blowing sand over the dunes and with sun shining through the flying sand. Overnight in the tourist camp. (B/L/D)
Day 7 : Khongor sand dune

Day 8 : trek to Camel breeding family (trekking 5 hours)
Start trekking steppe and mountainous area, on the way we will visit camel breeding family. Overnight in the tent (B/L/D)
Day 9 : Flaming cliffs “Bayanzag” – Dinosaur’s native land, (trekking 5 hours)
Camel riding trip one day after breakfast drive to South Gobi (250km). On the way visit the Flaming cliffs (dinosaur excavation site). Bayanzag is an area of red cliffs, which formed from the erosion of sand and rock over many thousands of years. It is also the site of several successful dinosaur excavations. Overnight at the tourist camp. (B/L/D)
Day 10 : Moltsog els (trekking 5 hours)
25 kms away from Bayanzag explore Moltsog Els sand dunes. Trek through gobi stepper.(B/L/D)
Day 11 : Middle Gobi- Ongi cloister
Today we drive to Middle Gobi (about 250km) to Ongi cloister. Ongi found in 1760 place where 30 temple and 1000 Buddhist lamas used to live. During 1939’s communist purges it’s completely destroyed. Today one temple has been fully rebuilt. The grounds also include tow small museums. Overnight in the tourist camp.(B/L/D)
Day 12 : drive to kharakhorum, Erdenezuu Monastery
After breakfast drive to Kharakhorum (250km) ancient Mongolian capital city and Erdenezuu monastery. Mongolia´s ancient capital city Kharakhorum, Chinggis Khaan´s fabled city, was founded in 1220 in the ORKHON Valley, at the crossroads of “The Silk Road”. It was from there that the Mongol Empire was governed, until Kublai Khaan moved to Beijing. Erdene zuu Mongolian biggest Monastery was built in 1586 (16 century) and is surrounded by a massive 400m-x 400m wall. Not a single nail was used in the construction of the ornate temples, only a few of which remain standing after the communist purges. Overnight in the tourist camp.(B/L/D)
Day 13 : Ulaanbaatar
After breakfast drive back to Ulaanbaatar. It will be a day of guided sightseeing in UB, shopping and free time. Evening you will watch National folk dance performance. Overnight 3 start hotel(B/L)
Day 14 : Departure.

What's serving for you?
Tourist Ger camp: (Ger facilities) During your trip in the countryside, you’ll overnight in ger camps. Make yourself comfortable in a ger (2-4 beds). Each camp has a ger restaurant. Most camps are equipped with toilets and showers with other possibilities for entertainment.
Guest Ger camp:: (Ger facilities) During your trip in the countryside, you’ll occasionally overnight in guest ger camps. It’s more casual or less touristy decorated comparing to tourist luxury ger camps. Most guest ger camps are not equipped with flush toilets or hot showers.
by the nomadic family: Traditionally, nomad families used to leave 1 extra ger for random visitor’s sudden visit. Nowadays its a fading tradition but has found new life as tourists have started coming to Mongolia. Providing a sustainable extra income to nomadic families and providing for meaningful cultural exchanges, spare gers in the countryside are far more interesting to stay in than some tour camps.
Japanese van: (4 wheel vehicle) over the last several years Japanese vans have been successfully running for tourist services all over Mongolia. They have good air conditioning systems and are more comfortable to ride in which is appreciated by many of our clients.
Purgon (Russian van): Purgon is a grey colored van guaranteed for Mongolian bumpy roads and it holds 7 people easily. It’s suitable for longer trips and for those who are keen to save some transport expenses. We would suggest the van if you are heading off into remote areas such as western Mongolia or the Gobi.
