Tsagaan Sar is the Mongolian lunar New Year’s festival. It is often celebrated around the same time as the Chinese New Year. The White Moon holiday is celebrated two months after the first new moon following the winter solstice. Around the New Year people greet each other by saying “Amar mend uu”, a very formal greeting which one says to one’s elders. Mongolians also visit friends and family on this day and exchange gifts.

Early morning visit Gandan Monastery light a zul(Candle) for 1st day of lunar new year. pray and make wishes. Drive to Terelj National Park, we will visit nomadic family. Usually Mongolia people prepare to Tsagaan sar holiday in this day. There you can see them preparing for the holiday. Tonight family members get together and the main dish is steamed dumpling (Buuz). Mostly relatives come to join, bringing Buuz and join the family. Today everyone should get packed in their stomach. Overnight in the tourist camp. (L/D)
Today we wake up at 6.00-7.00 o’clock in the morning before sun goes up. According to do the tradition you should make a new years direction and pray for the sacred mountain and Mother Nature. As Mongolian tradition, today people wear new national clothes /deel/, and go for greeting with the oldest family member /grandparents/. Their grandparents kiss and greet young and old people, grandchildren. This is called Zolgolt(Greeting). They chat with relatives, eat national foods, drink /Airag / mare’s milk, play ankle bone shooting /national game/. After this we may visit another family by riding horses. Stay Overnight in the tourist camp. (B/L/D)
Today we will wonder around the Terelj National Park on the horseback. We will ride a bit and visit and greet to some other families with our host family. This afternoon drive back to Ulaanbaatar. Overnight at the 3 star hotel(B/L)

Tourist Ger camp: (Ger facilities) During your trip in the countryside, you’ll overnight in ger camps. Make yourself comfortable in a ger (2-4 beds). Each camp has a ger restaurant. Most camps are equipped with toilets and showers with other possibilities for entertainment.
Guest Ger camp:: (Ger facilities) During your trip in the countryside, you’ll occasionally overnight in guest ger camps. It’s more casual or less touristy decorated comparing to tourist luxury ger camps. Most guest ger camps are not equipped with flush toilets or hot showers.
by the nomadic family: Traditionally, nomad families used to leave 1 extra ger for random visitor’s sudden visit. Nowadays its a fading tradition but has found new life as tourists have started coming to Mongolia. Providing a sustainable extra income to nomadic families and providing for meaningful cultural exchanges, spare gers in the countryside are far more interesting to stay in than some tour camps.
Japanese van: (4 wheel vehicle) over the last several years Japanese vans have been successfully running for tourist services all over Mongolia. They have good air conditioning systems and are more comfortable to ride in which is appreciated by many of our clients.
Purgon (Russian van): Purgon is a grey colored van guaranteed for Mongolian bumpy roads and it holds 7 people easily. It’s suitable for longer trips and for those who are keen to save some transport expenses. We would suggest the van if you are heading off into remote areas such as western Mongolia or the Gobi.

Adventure Traveler category- 2 star hotel or Guesthouse, mixed accommodation and tourist ger camping or camping in the tent, field cooked meals, steppe biking for beginners.
Extreme adventure seekers – camping, field cooked meals, mountain and steppe biking (advanced biker), horse riding trip (advanced rider with more than 5 years experience), Camel riding trek, and extreme mountain climber.
